Chicago Poker Classic Event 1

Just got back from the casino. Tired as hell. Going to bed, but will post short update on my Chicago Poker Classic tournament.
After all the tournament was pretty nice. Not too expensive, and the blind structure is pretty nice. Starting w 10,000 in chips. Yesterday played in some satellite and won ticket to Event 1, so it was pretty much free roll for me today.

800 players registered. Funny thing, at least 9-10 people from PDC/Carbon attended the event. We took some pictures together, will post them later.

Back to my tournament. To make long story short, got busted out w 1010 vs 66 pre flop in Level 4 or 5. Guy raises to 550 under the gun. Blinds 100-200. Stacks around 6k mine and his 8K. I look at my hand, 1010. I re-pop him to 2200. To be honest I put him on weak ace or some middle pair. I pretty much knew how he played, since we were sitting since tournament start at the same table. He thinks for a while, asks me how much do I have left and ships it. Easy call. Not folding there for sure. 2 reasons. 1. Not against this player, who thinks A8 is a monster. 2. Need to double up, bcs I'm not there just to survive, I'm there to make deep into cash or break early, so I'm not wasting my day for nothing.

I was hoping he didn't have 2 over cards for a flip I got even better news seeing that I had dominating hand. 1010 vs 66.

Flop hits 734. Turn 5 completing his gut shot straight, river blank Ace. Awesome.

Thank you and have a good day.

Then I went to play in some cash game. $1-2. There was one maniac player who would not give you to see cheap flops or any cheap card. First 15 minutes I observed the table and noticed that he plays like always has a monster. I wasn't born yesterday and I know that is not really possible. I folded to him top pair w good kicker like 4 times, bcs didn't want to go play big pot with marginal hand, but last time folding to his reraise on flop Ace 10 with A56 on board decided that's the last time I let him push me around.

And the fun started. Started playing like every hand I had aces. That was freaking hilarious. Table was only spectating. Lucky me, I folded when I had worst hands and got called when I had something better. If anyone else gets in the hand, I know they must have a monster, bcs they didn't want any part of our brawl.

I put the guy on tilt with showing some bluffs and he started calling me with lowest pair when I had monsters. Good stuff.

One of the hands- He raises in EP to $12, everyone folds, I'm in late position wake up with a monster J6. I re-raise him to $28. He calls. Flop 6Q8. He checks, I bet $30. Flats. 3 on turn. He checks, I check. River J. Two pair. Nice. He checks I bet the pot, insta calls. Flips 22. I scoop the pot and people are sitting wondering wtf these two are doing here?

The same guy is pretty much on red hot tilt and spews all his chips to everyone when he actually had like 3 buy ins when I joined the table. Finally gets felted and leaves the table. argh. No fun. People are too tight and not fun to play against. So, I stood up and went to play in some satellite for tomorrows event.

Quick recap of that one. Guy raises UTG, I call on button w A8. flop A86. guy bets, I reraise all in, hoping he has some Ace and pays me off. He thinks for a while and while pushing his stack into middle says "I think you don't have an Ace". I flip two pairs, he shows JJ. Turn blank, River J. Congratulations, please come again.

Anyway, tomorrow I'm playing in Event 2. This Event was on sale on chip me up, so I would love to make some money for guys who invested in me...

42nd Deepstack win

Had really bad Sunday. Actually it wasn't that bad, but really upsetting. Lost WSOP seat AGAIN. 2nd AGAIN. One day maybe I will win it. No matter how many times we pushed all in, always lost either a flip or being a pretty good favorite. Hand AJ vs Q5 preflop was a real dagger, when he caught 5 on river. Then my AJ didnt improve against 66. And one more all in w A9 i think vs KJ was another double up. Had very nice lead, but can't do anything about it...

Oh well. Then spewed my chips in Full Tilt bcs I was on full tilt myself. Took a few deep breaths and decided to finish Sunday on PS Sunday Millions at least in cash. That game was HUGE. Don't even remember how many people, but it was damn huge. 5200 got paid. So I guess around 50K plus players. Sick stuff.
Finished around 1200. Got busted with a two outer. However, a few hands before that I had to be out anyway. But my AJ cracked AA...

Finally won 42nd Deep stack today. My A8 won against AJ. Flop gave him flush draw, but I'm happy spade or J didn't come. weeee.

Paid on my Chip me up account almost $400 to people who had invested in me. I think I'm cutting the share percentage... People had their chance to make some money, but I gotta cut it a little bit...

In home league finished 4th. still in the money, but not too happy about it. So far 1st in our Leagues Leader board. Oh, And I think I'm first on Merge MTT Leader board as well.

This Friday going to play in Chicago Poker Classic. Should be fun.

Quote of the day

I really like poker. Every hand has its different problems.

Mute

Oh, I forgot to tell you something.

If there are some friendly people, who are trying to talk to me online, sorry I have disabled the chat and I don't see anything what anyone is saying. This is mainly bcs of I got tired of idiots who start teaching me how to play and telling me what to do and what not to do. People are bitching at me for winning a hand and calling me lucky, when all the chips in the middle are being pushed on flop with me having a set and other guy with straight draw. Turn completes the straight, but river gives me quads. Not to mention, I simply needed a board to pair, but some idiots have no clue about poker and start barking that I had one out and of course I caught it. And of course the fact that I was way ahead on flop doesn't mean anything either...
Or I hear some idiot calling me names, bcs I won a pot w AA against AJ suited and all the chips were in the middle on flop with him having a flush draw. Doesn't matter how you win, but as long as you win, you will hear some stupid comments and excuses... Funny, they loose the pot, but you will always be the donkey.

Anyway, I noticed that since I have disabled the chat, poker is more enjoyable. I used to ignore the idiots and talk to good guys, but it was tough to ignore some bum talking crap and not to stand up for myself.

Now, if anyone is barking about me at the table and I'm not responding- it's simply bcs I don't see the chat.

For those who want to contact me, you know how to find me.

41st Deepstack win

Long time no post. No excuses. Just got lazy and didn't feel like posting anything. However a lot of stuff happened within last 10 days.

Won Deep stack for 41st time. yay.

Finished 8th in Sunday GTD. meh ... Got sucked out once with 1 outer and sucked out myself once with 2 outer. Nothing else interesting, just like always can't get to the final table with normal chip stack. Right before final table my AK lost against some A rag and on FT was sitting with short stack. Argh.

In home league bubbled two weeks in the row. Still in the first place on leader board though.

After finishing last month on top of MTT Leader board, I decided to try to stay up there ;) If anyone is trying to get on top and to get that little Accolade, sorry- it's not happening.

Last weekend we had soccer tournament on the snow. That was first time I played soccer in middle of the winter outside, but I loved it. It was awesome.
Our team finished 3rd in the little one day tourney. Like always. 3rd time 3rd in the row ...

Making some money for some people on chip me up :) Not sure how long I will keep selling the shares, bcs it's nto really profitable for me... I win the tourney and have to pay off almost $300... Maybe I will start selling less shares. We will see.

40th Deep Stack win

Yesterday chopped with Goldenbear again :) Ok, that was half win again, but still co-first.

However, today busted out pretty sick. Instead of having dominating lead at the table, I'm going to watch some movie or smth. Done with poker for today.

All in on flop. QQ vs 88. River 8. Congratufuckinglations!

Gotta mention, I did use one of 3 outers myself. But that was different situation. I would of still had around 13K in chip with blinds 300-600. Earlier in the tourney KJ vs AJ all in on flop with J highest. Rivered K.

Anyway, as I always say, don't hate the player hate the game.

I hate you Ebener.

Just kidding...

In MTT finished 7th or smth like that. Somewhere where I fate to finish, but I always do...

One sick hand from MTT Tournament crippled me pretty bad early in the tourney. We both flopped sets with me having JJJ and the other guy having QQQ. Lucky me I still had some more chips left.

Anyway, I hate poker

Lay down

I'm posting this just to prove I wasnt lying I folded AK. ;) I honestly put him on flush draw and didn't want to risk it. I'm a whimp. But I guess It worked. He would of caught the flush...

PlayersOnly, Sportsbook.com to Leave Cake Poker Network

By Dan Cypra for POKER NEWS DAILY | Posted on February 03, 2010

Rumblings in the recent London Affiliate Conference (LAC) were that by mid-April, PlayersOnly and Sportsbook.com would be departing the Cake Poker Network. Instead, Sportsbook.com's parent company, which owns both sites, will head to the Merge Gaming Network. Poker News Daily sought comment from the Cake Poker Network.

Likely by mid-April, PlayersOnly and Sportsbook.com will join the Merge Gaming Network, whose flagship site is Carbon Poker, although a firm timeline does not appear to be in place. Both sites, according to Cake Poker Network officials, brought seasonal player bases to the table, as operating a sports book remained their central focus. Major sporting events brought a spike in traffic, which then fizzled during the low season. Sportsbook.com has been a member of the Cake Poker Network since 2006, while PlayersOnly began accepting customers from across the globe in October. Prior to that, PlayersOnly was only available to poker fans in the United States and Canada.

Cake Poker Network officials labeled the potential departure of PlayersOnly and Sportsbook.com “unfortunate, since they were a great group to work with,” but touted their surge of new partners as well as a new poker client expected to debut in the near future: “We’re working on a new client that we are really excited about. It has new features, better graphics, and higher reliability. We’ve put a lot of thought and a lot of work into this and hope to have a beta into some players’ hands no later than April.” The network’s software allows users to change screen names with regularity, hindering the ability of database programs like PokerTracker and Holdem Manager to keep track of the competition.

In addition to Carbon Poker, the Merge Gaming Network includes ACED, IronDuke, Poker Nordica, and Reefer Poker. Its cash game traffic, according to PokerScout.com, has shrunk in recent months. It saw a 24-hour peak of 632 real money ring game players on December 14th, but has jumped above 500 just once since. At the time of writing, the Merge Gaming Network boasted a seven-day running average of 245 real money ring game players, good for the 20th largest tally worldwide. The Merge Gaming family of sites welcomes players from the United States.

The Cake Poker Network, meanwhile, is the tenth largest in the business, boasting a seven-day running average of 2,100 cash game players, or nearly 10 times the traffic of the Merge Gaming Network. Besides Cake Poker and DoylesRoom, other network sites include Power Poker, Poker Host, and Bet US.
