Suckout worth $1500...

Sucks, when out of 281 players you make it to HU and On flop shove all in with top pair only to get called with middle pair. And turn spikes trips.

Can't really bitch about too much, I hit my 3 outer on final table as well.
But still had to vent. not a bad day, cashed in High roller, then finished 3rd in $100 tourney as well. But always you go for the top prize. Which mean you are never satisfied, unless you take it all....

Been a while...

Have been busy past year with my new business and had little to no time to actually play poker at all. Also, became a father, so no instead of reading people have to read my little guy when he shit his pants or when he is simply hungry.

After losing quite a chunk last year, Noticed that playing and being constantly distracted doesnt really work that well for me, decided to cash most of the money and take a break from poker. After some time off from poker, got back to Carbon and made my goal to make my last $300 there to some nice bankroll, as I used to have before cashing everything out. The very first tourney won 3K gtd and had some breathing room to play bigger buy in tournaments, but still was holding off from High Roller and most of $100 buy ins...

Bankroll was going up and down, basically staying at the same level, finally won some good tournaments, final tabling in more than 50% of tourneys I played. The fields got smaller on Carbon, so only 3-5 get paid on bigger buy in tourneys. Doing pretty good, finally got BR back to a point where I can easily play few big daily tournaments and even if I would lose, I would still have enough... Cashed in couple High rollers, then won 1 and the next day took second getting my BR to 5 figures. Well the very next Sunday dropped almost 3 k, playing ALL merge tournaments. I haven't beaten by So many suckouts in one day before. But oh well, thats poker. Rebought in $500 one once, in high rollera  few  times and in $100 way to many times :). My basic rule is, unless I start playing bad, I will still re-enter the tournament. Long story short, played good, radar was on point, but simply was not able to shake the 2-3 outers, or it seemed all draws always got filled for opponents and my cards never held up. Meh. Well, I'm not here to bitch about it, but that was pretty tough day for me...

Stopped the bleeding the very next day, when cashed in 4 tournaments... A lot of new faces on carbon, even though I have been playing there pretty much since they started, I don't know 99% of the names. It seems all old players are gone. There are a few main guys I have to deal with in all tourneys, but mainly the field is softer. It seems I can make to FT for big percentage of my tourneys I play. Only need to make it to cash more often and all will be good. The only problem now- Carbon removed player to player transfers and still are taking up to 6 weeks to cut $2500 check. its like a nighmare to your bankroll, because since you cant really cash it fast, you simply play way much looser and re enter multiple times to every tournament.

Well, I'll stick around for some time. See ya at the tables

Chicago Poker Classic Results

Sorry, was too busy to mess with my blog, even too busy to play poker lately for a few months... Here is the update how my Chicago poker Classic ended. Out of 6 tournaments played cashed in two. Finished 9th in $1,100 Head up tournament. And finished 8th in $350 Shorthanded tournament. I think we had 600 or so people there. Dont remember exactly. Briefly- yeah, cashed HU. Last hand was all in on flop 5JA with two pairs J5 vs A3. guy spiked a 3 on turn. It was super tough match, everyone were done already and we played like an extra hour on empty stage with no one around An he went to finals, to win second place. That could of be me Sucks, but as long as you put your money good, that's all it matters.Finished 9th out of 250 or so. Main Event. Lost with QK spades all in on flop 10sJs6c. Royal flush draw against set of 66. Turn and river blanks. $350 first day ran good. Busted the bubble myself with set of 10's on flop vs JJ. Guy totally shot himself in the foot, bcs he was sitting with like 50 K and shoved all in with 1-2 k blinds, when another player on his right had 2.5 k ))))))))))))) Kinda crazy to go out on bubble like this. Second day went really fast. Blinds were going fast and pretty much every hand was building a monster pot. With 8 people left, Blinds 5-10 K, I was sitting on like 180k or so. On BB looked at 99. Button raised to 30 k, I shipped it. BB folds. Flipped AK. Flop K + rags, but 3 hearts. I had 9h, and he had no heart in hand. Turn and River Black blanks. End of Chicago Poker Classic for me. Could of been WAYYYY better if couple hand held up, especially in Heads up match. That was 70 k for first. Oh well. I'm back home, will do the math tomorrow and will talk with my investors privately about it.

First few events ran like shit

Event #1 -$240 NL Holdem re-entry.

Dont even remember what was happening, only thing I know I played pretty tight and still managed to burn my re-entry and on top of that, after got busted for second time, reentered again. In every game never went up more than 15-17 K for some reason. Have no idea why, but was always was sitting with starting stack and if I won some, immediatelly lost the chips back.

Long story short, got busted 3 times in the same tourney and packed my stuuf and went downstairs to play some SNG Satellites. I love these and basically in every series I play, SnGs make up for most of my MTT losses.

Played 3 SnGs that night, won 2 and bubbled the third one after losing flip w 66 vs A9. Not too bad. That covered my MTT s buyins, so went home without being too upset.

Didnt play in 1b, since burned my reentry money and actually went one overboard ;) and also, was really exhausted, because lately havent slept much at all. So Friday was a good time to rest.

Came back for event #2 $350 NL Holdem on Saturday.

Played pretty tight, picking my spots to get some chips. Everything was working pretty good, but I realized everyone around me have way more chips, because they simply played more hands. Sarted opening my range. Worked pretty good. Untill from Button raised it up w A3 diamonds, big blind min raised. Obviously not folding there. Flop comes 244 two diamonds. Guy shoves all in. Straight flush draw. Blah, will take a chance. I call. Turn river blanks. I he had little less, but next hand got busted with my 1,5 bb Anyway.

Decided to play in mega satellite for Main Event, since it was going on at the same time. Busted like 10-15 people from money. Sucks.

Went back downstairs, played one sng, won it and made 500 bucks. Day is pretty even again. Dont want to sit here more and drive back home. At the stop light some junk car stops and black guy manually Rolls down his window and starts talking to me. I open mine and think that maybe my break light is not working or my tire is flat. Ask him whats up and he starts screming- whats uo whats up, maybe you have some problems? Stop in this gas station and we will take care of them . And his buddy waves something in his hand. Cant say that was a handgun for sure, but that looked awefully close to it.

I closed my window and started driving after green light lighted up. They started following. Or maybe they were going the same direction anyway. I kept driving and at the next stop light i stopped, they pull over right next to me. Kinda scary shit, because you never know when they will open the window and start popping. Guess what. Another car stop behind me. Look over the rear view mirror- COPS. That was the first time ever I actually was hapy to see a cop car behind me. Green light lighted up and i saw how the junk car kinda changed lanes and turned left at the next light.

Cops followed me for some time and once we got to freeway, they sped up and took off. Fuckin A.

Great news regarding Full Tilt

The French investment firm Groupe Bernard Tapie has signed a deal to buy Full Tilt Poker, the online gambling site that was shut down by the federal government for allegedly operating a Ponzi scheme.

GBT has agreed to acquire Full Tilt Poker for $80 million, in a deal that was brokered by the U.S. Department of Justice, according to TK. As part of the deal, Full Tilt Poker had to agree to forfeit its assets to the U.S. government, which then sold the assets to the GBT.

Full Tilt Poker owed as much as $390 million to international players who had gambling accounts with the company when it was shut down by federal authorities in August. About half of those losses are held by players in the U.S.

As part of the deal, the French firm will take responsibility for the burned players outside the U.S., while the Department of Justice will facilitate paybacks to the American gamblers who lost about $150 million. American players will have to apply to the DOJ for compensation.

The federal government has seized the Full Tilt Poker site, which is currently embossed with the seals of the DOJ and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The government plans to dismiss the civil forfeiture proceedings. This will have no impact on individual proceedings, but it removes a potential liability for shareholders, as it removes all pending proceeding against Full Tilt.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York pounced on Full Tilt on August 31 and charged executives with raiding the accounts of gamblers who had been promised winnings and keeping the money for themselves.

Omaha Hi/LO

Really getting sick of nasty suckouts in NL Holdem, so decided to change things a little bit. Playing Omaha is really fun and at least you expect to get sucked out and it doesnt bite that hard. And especially Omaha Hi/Lo is really fun game.

For guys, who are kinda afraid to steer from NL Holdem- try it out. And thank me later. You will not want to come back to Holdem anymore.

Lately started playing a lot of Hi/Lo games. Cash and tournaments.

If you are new to this game, Here is little guide for Omaha Hi/Lo starting hands. Check the game out at low limit cash games. And let me know if you like it

Premium Starting Hands

1. A-A-2-x
2. A-A-3-x
3. A-2-3-x
4. A-2-4-x
5. A-2-x-x
6. A-3-4-x
7. A-A-x-x

It is crucial to consider how these hands vary in strength, based on the value of the cards denoted as 'x' as well as whether or not the cards are suited, double-suited or non-suited. If an A-2-K-K hand is double-suited, it is much ber than a hand of A-2-Q-8 that is not suited, yet on the chart, these hands both fall into the A-2-x-x category. And, of course, a double-suited hand of A-A-K-K is much ber than a non-suited A-A-Q-7, again falling into the same category in the chart. So, you must study the overall hand to determine the exact strength. All 'x' cards of 6 through 9 generally weaken a hand but in loose play, these combinations can be b.

The Top Ten List

These are considered the Top Ten hands in Omaha High-Low:

1. A-A-2-3 Double-suited
2. A-A-2-4 Double-suited
3. A-A-2-3 Suited
4. A-A-2-5 Double-suited
5. A-A-2-4 Suited
6. A-A-3-4 Double-suited
7. A-A-2-3 Non-suited
8. A-A-2-2 Double-suited
9. A-A-3-5 Double-suited
10. A-A-2-6 Double-suited

Playable Starting Hands

Below is a list of hands that are considered to be playable starting hands in Omaha High-Low:

A-A-2-x
A-A-3-x
A-A-4-5
A-2-3-x
A-2-K-K
A-2-Q-Q
A-2-J-J
A-3-4-5
